Session 1 : Introduction

This session prepares participants for the Turning the Page training program. It focuses on the logistics of the training and explains the training agenda, session format, and supporting materials and tools participants will use. As part of this session, participants will take an advocacy self-assessment survey to figure out what questions they have about advocacy and what skills they want to work on during the training.

  • Script : This customizable script puts the training in context and recommends ways to make the content as relevant as possible. It also includes trainer talking points and suggestions for how to deliver the training and activities you could do.
  • PowerPoint Presentation : This PowerPoint provides a visual component to accompany the script and help create an interactive, engaging session. It will help you keep participants’ attention and the session on track.
  • Handouts : Handouts for this session include an advocacy training agenda, training session descriptions, advocacy terms and definitions, a self-assessment survey, and a session feedback form. After planning your training, please customize these materials to fit your needs best.
